What it does

Renames a file or folder.

Syntax

ren [unidad:][ruta]nombre_actual nombre_nuevo

Usage examples

ren c:\users\admin\musica.mp3 cancion.mp3
ren *.txt *.bak
ren viejo.txt nuevo.txt

Notes and common mistakes

Cannot move files to another path or drive. rename is equivalent.
